Adrian Biddell offers both new and established collectors advice on buying and selling art either privately or through auction. Drawing on over three decades of experience at the top of the art market, he offers a wealth of knowledge in 19th century European, Impressionist and Modern art.

Adrian’s particular expertise lies in the leading regional painters and their schools who were active across Europe between 1850 and 1930. As head of Sotheby’s 19th Century European Paintings department from 1999 to 2015, he developed a wide-ranging programme of specialist sales that focused on artists working on the cusp of Modernism. From Scandinavia to Spain, Belgium to the Bosphorus, Adrian established Sotheby’s as market leader in the field. He formed Adrian Biddell Fine Art Ltd in the spring of 2017 and is Consultant Head of Paintings at Olympia Auctions, West London.
